Project Cost: $1,400,000

The bridge is owned by the Town of Drumheller and needed to be replaced. This is a historic 1931 Pratt pony truss bridge over the Rosebud River on Highway 10X that runs along the meandering Rosebud River through the Alberta Badlands to Wayne. Highway 10X is also known as the scenic “11 Bridges Route,” and it holds a Guinness World Record for having the most bridges within the shortest distance (six kilometres)

We worked with Algonquin Bridge Limited, who again engineered the bridge. It was then shipped in component pieces that will be assembled on-site by our team.

After waiting for the frost to thaw so the abutments could be installed, we transported and assembled the full bridge on site.

Once the abutments were installed and the river shoreline secured, we moved the new bridge down the road to its new home.

Over the 31,000 km of highways in Alberta, there are over 4,000 bridges in the province. If you have a bridge that needs repair or replacement, contact Sure-Seal today at [email protected], call 403-265-8677.
