Wayne Bridge #11 Project
Wayne Bridge #11
Sure-Seal Contracting Ltd. was awarded the project for Wayne Bridge 11 during a Council Meeting in 2024. We began working with Algonquin Bridge Limited to coordinate the needs of this location.
You can read more about that decision here.
This is a historic 1931 Pratt pony truss bridge over the Rosebud River on Highway 10X that runs along the meandering Rosebud River through the Alberta Badlands to Wayne. Highway 10X is also known as the scenic “11 Bridges Route,” and it holds a Guinness World Record for having the most bridges within the shortest distance (six kilometres)
Algonquin Bridge
Algonquin Bridge Limited designed and engineered the bridge. They then shipped all the component pieces to be assembled on-site by Sure-Seal.
After waiting for the frost to thaw, we transported and assembled the full bridge on-site.
You can follow along with the assembly and installation of the bridge in our video below, and see the completed bridge video completed by Algonquin Bridge below as well.
There are plans in the works to place Wayne Bridge #10, which was built in 1926.
Over the 31,000 km of highways in Alberta, there are over 4,000 bridges in the province. If you have a bridge that needs repair or replacement, contact Sure-Seal today at [email protected], call 403-265-8677.
